Monaco Tourism Government Bureau logo design competition finalist.
The brief was to rejuvenate the current logo which does not reflect the destination's up beat image.
A young, fun typeface for the word “visit” was chosen to give movement and vitality, reflecting the traveler enjoying Monaco. It is feminine with its soft curves and loose flow, like Monaco’s coast line and the ebb & flow of the Mediterranean.
The “Monaco” font has a race track feel when used in black. It is also classy and elegant to reflect the casino life of Monte-Carlo. It’s straight lines with sharp angles give the word a masculine and rock-like trait.
The combination of these two typefaces creates a bold contrast and gives the logo visual interest.
